Anything Goes for Simply Magnolia

 Good Morning Friends

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Day and that the Jolly Fat Man left you lots of lovely crafting goodies.
I am still enjoying the festivities with another Christmas dinner today, and again tomorrow with son and four year old granddaughter who will be visiting from Dorset. That's three Christmas dinners in a row now.
I soon will be as fat as a turkey and start to gobble like one!

Well, we are half way through our challenge of
ANYTHING GOES
at Simply Magnolia and I have made a card for you.

Catching Stars Tilda was painted with Distress inks. She is stitched to a Spellbinders die and glitter and tiny sequins and beads have been added to her crown, wand and stars. Above the card is a Joy Craft Star die which has also been Glamour Dusted and sequined.
I added a doily, lace, gesso'd flowers and a seam binding bow.

I really enjoyed making this card. After all the Christmassy ones, It was JUST SO refreshing.

SIMPLY MAGNOLIA -Christmas is coming midway reminder

Christmas is coming midway reminder

Hi friends, I'm back with my post for Simply Magnolia today, hoping you will join us in our Christmas Challenge.
You still have a week left to enter to be in with a chance of being in our Top 3 or winning our GDT spot.

It's an easel card, made with my favourite Maja Design papers from the Vintage Frost collection.
I've added gesso and stitched the edges. The flowers have a touch of Stickles and a sprinkling of Glamour Dust. The ribbon and lace have diamanté embellishments and I've added a shabby bark star.

I'm rushing around manically trying to buy more presents for Christmas, as I suppose most of us are at the moment!
So, I will keep this post short and sweet.

Magnolia Tilda With Sparkle Poinsettia's

Hi Folks

I hope you are well and ready for Christmas.
This is one of my last Christmas cards for 2015 and I must admit to looking forward to making birthday cards again! This year I have made cards for sale in local shops as well as for friends and family. They have sold really well and it has been a wonderfully hectic few weeks, but I am ready for a break now.

This is a card I made using little "Tilda with Sparkle Poinsettias".
I coloured her with distress inks, adding glamour dust and stitching along a border of Maja paper. The dies are Joy Craft and Magnolia and have also been given the glamour dust treatment.
I LOVE that stuff!
I scrunched up some seam binding and added bows, lace and blue silky crush ribbon. The tag on the bottom layer opens and has a wooden, painted and glittered sentiment There is also a pretty diamante snowflake and a couple of wooden shabby stars.

I hope you like her.

Happy Christmas Shopping

Simply Magnolia Midway Reminder

Welcome Magnolia Friends

I am here to remind you that we are half way through our 'Shabby Chic'
challenge at  Simply Magnolia and to show you the card I made as part of the design team.

This cute Tilda is part of the new Christmas collection and the pine needle, mushroom and poinsettia's are all from the latest limited collection dies. They are perfect for these cards.
I used distress inks to paint Tilda, masking her to two other Magnolia stamps. The papers are Maja, Vintage Frost which I stitched and added gesso.
I hope you like it.

Have a lovely week,

Magnolia - Edwin with Christmas Lantern

Good Morning Everyone

There is truly a nip in the air today in London and it feels much more seasonal. I went Christmas shopping yesterday and spent far too much money and that was just on a few bits for friends. I haven't even started on the family yet!

I made this card recently using Edwin with Christmas Lantern. I painted him with inks, cut him out and put him onto a frame. Inside the frame is an old Magnolia scene of Winter, also coloured with inks.
I used my Maja Frost papers, some kraft card, Dee's Distinctive and, Magnolia dies and lots of gesso and Glamour Dust. I am quite pleased with the way it turned out.

Till next time, stay warm,
Hugs

♥ AAM Challenge #8 - ALL ABOUT SPARKLE ♥

Hi Everyone

Its time for a half way reminder post for ALL ABOUT MAGNOLIA. The theme for November is

♥ ALL ABOUT SPARKLE ♥

The papers are Vintage Frost by Maja Design. They have been cut using Go Kreate dies, inked and stitched.
Tilda has been painted with distress re-inkers and glittered with glamour dust. I placed a little blue gem in the middle of the stamped snowflakes and also some snowflake charms. The sentiment and heart were coated with gesso and lots of glamour dust.
The bow has a diamanté embellishment and the flowers also sparkle but......it has been so dull and dreary here in London that the camera couldn't capture it at all!

I hope you will play along with our challenge.
Have a lovely week.

Magnolia - Dancing Tilda in Italy

Hello Everyone

I thought it was about time I put a card on my blog. It has been a bit neglected lately as I haven't been feeling very well. I am now completely and quite hopelessly in love with the new Magnolia stamp "Dancing Tilda in Italy".
I coloured it as soon as it arrived, hope you like it.

It's a square card, which is unusual for me, but I do like the extra space for the larger dies and flowers. The ruffled ribbon, bead string and flowers are from Live and Love Crafts the ribbon and diamanté embellishment is from the Ribbon Girls.

I matched the blue and pink colours to my distress inks and added some Glamour dust to the lace on Tilda's arm.

Happy Crafting

Tilda with Little Snowman

Hello Everyone

I don't make Halloween cards and the theme is everywhere at the moment. But I do have another Christmas card to show you. This little Tilda doesn't have a name yet. She is new, from the Autumn stamp club and so cute!  I masked her with an older background stamp of the winter church and painted the scene with  distress inks.
I am looking forward to the rest of the Christmas 2015 stamps, which should be just around the corner.

This is an easel card.
The background sparkles with Glamour Dust and Snow-Tex but the light is so unpredictable at this time of year and the camera hasn't picked it up.
All embellishments are from Live and Love Crafts including these gorgeous Maja "Vintage Frost" papers which I cut with Go Create dies, inked and stitched.
The leaves and the tag have been cut with Magnolia dies. The tag  opens for a message. There are some snowy pinecones in the flowers and a diamanté snowflake in the bow. I added more Snow-Tex to the shabby stars. The lace has been hand gathered and the bottom bow is made of crinkled seam binding with an added heart. The large snowflake dies are from Joy Craft.

That's all for now friends.
Happy Crafting.

AUTUMN TILDA

Hello Magnolia Lovers!

Today I am here with a reminder post for our current challenge over at the
AUTUMN
I was in the garden this week, tidying up and became aware that the crows in the oak tree were watching me. And as I cleared the remaining sunflowers, I knew just how to make my Design Team card. I chose my Maja papers, matched my inks and cardstock and made this.

I coloured Tilda with my distress inks, painting onto watercolour paper. The birds and background die are Joy Craft dies. The two tags  and the leaves are Magnolia and I added lace and ribbons from my stash.

I hope you like my Autumn card and will join in our challenge.

Just a little easel card...Magnolia of Course!

♥ ♥ ♥ Hi  ♥ ♥ ♥
This is a just quick post as I'm off to the dentist.
Nothing bad, just fitting a couple of new crowns. I suffer with auto -immune disease and it plays havoc with my teeth. Hence more crowns than real ones and LOTS of root canals.
♥ ♥ ♥
This is Bohemian Peony Tilda from the BOHO collection. The papers are Pion and she is coloured with distress re-inkers.

I used Marianne DIE LRO299, Go Kreate dies, Magnolia dies, a wooden painted heart, gesso, Glamour Dust, lace and flowers. Most of the embellishments are available at Live and Love Crafts.
I added some distress ink to the border to match Tilda and a sentiment to the tag, which opens for a message.
♥ ♥ ♥
Have a lovely day

Free Spirit Tilda.....Again........

 ♥ ♥ ♥ Hello Friends ♥ ♥ ♥

It's about time I posted another card here or I will be falling behind. This is my second one staring "Free Spirit Tilda", because I love her...I really do!

I used some Bildmalana papers that were waiting patiently in the draw for over a year, just willing me to use them.
It was their lucky day....I stitched and inked them.
This is a square card. My Go Kreate dies stayed safely in their packets for a change, while I went retro.
 ♥ ♥ ♥
I chose to use Kraft card, adding sage Tim Holtz
card, as leaves.  There is a doily in the background with a wooden heart, painted with gesso and sprinkled with Glamour dust. The silky crush bow holds a diamante/pearl heart and a couple of small pearl hearts have been added to the card. I chose the daisy lace and added a couple of daisy's
to the flowers as well. Does she look a bit Boho to you?

She has Glamour Dust on her dress, some liquid pearls around her and she was painted with distress re-inkers.
The sentiment just seemed to match.
 ♥ ♥ ♥
 That's all for now.
Enjoy your weekend, it's going to be lovely here in London and over the South East, so I will probably be found in the garden enjoying the last rays of summer.

All About Magnolia Challenge

Hi Everyone

I am here with my "All About Magnolia" hat on today. Actually it's the only one I've got now as my Tildas Town one has been lost......have to get myself a new one.

We are half way through our monthly challenge of ANYTHING BUT A CARD.  Now I don't usually like this theme 'cos I really just love to make cards. But this time, I was looking at my Laura Ashley hearts that hang from my dressing table, and wham, I knew what I had to make!
A little hanging Tilda heart, so here it is!

I used a Marianne Creatables die LR0299. The paper is Pion and the rest has been cut with white Bazzill card. I cut the heart to open and attached a length of pearl string to hang it.
The branch is a Joy Craft die. The gingham heart has a heart shaped clear gem and a rose and leaf.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft. They have gesso and Glamour Dust on them.
I also added some Stickles to the card for a bit of sparkle.

That's it really. Tilda was stamped onto watercolour paper, painted with distress inks, cut out and inked round the exposed edges. I used Glue Gel to raise her above the card.

♥ ♥ ♥
I hope you will join in with us girls at All About Magnolia.

Another Magnolia Boho Card

Hello Everyone

As promised, here is my second Peace and Love Tilda.
These pretty, vintage style papers are from Maja, Summer Crush. They are stitched and inked, and have the usual gesso. The Love die and Tag dies are Magnolia. The fancy oval around Tilda, the heart above her and the Branches  are from Joy Craft. I added some luscious lace, a piece of linen ribbon, some distressed seam binding and a painted wooden heart. The flowers have gesso and sparkle added.

This is "Bohemian Peony Tilda", painted with distress re-inkers onto Langton paper. She has been stitched, and I've added white pen and Glamour Dust.

Close up of the Doo Hickey and the flowers.

I hope you like the card. It was so much fun to make and that is what card making is all about isn't it?
It brings out the inner child and calms our minds for a little while or in my case a longer while. I love the sanctuary that is my craft room.

I have a couple of Christmas cards to add over the weekend, until then, have a lovely day.
Hugs

A Magnolia Tilda Christmas Card

Good Morning Everyone

Just before I set off to the dentist, I thought I would add a Christmas card to my blog,
I made this weeks ago, while experimenting with masking, and used three stamps together.

It was painted with distress re-inkers, an 00 brush and Langton Hot Press paper. There is also gesso and copious amounts of Glamour Dust.

I used Magnolia papers, from a few years back, with
Go Kreate dies to shape the card.
An old but pretty Marianne die adds interest to the back and a Spellbinders die makes a frame for the image. The papers are stitched, and have a little gesso on the edges.
I then gathered some ivory lace and added a Maja border.

The flowers have tiny Pinecones and berries with gesso and Glamour Dust and I've added a pretty diamanté Snowflake to an organza bow. Most of these embellishments can be found at Live and Love Crafts.

I really love making Christmas cards and would like nothing more than make them all year if I could.

Have a lovely day!
Hugs

Tildas' Town Challenge Fairwell

Hello Friends

Well, I have been home from holiday for a week now and as soon as the mountain of laundry was washed, ironed and stored away, I spent a little time in my craft room. Sir Stampalot  sent me the some new Magnolia stamps so I had fun making some "Hippy" cards. The new "Boho" collection is perfect for painting in distress colours. It gives them a real  vintage feel.

As you probably know, I am part of the long running "Tildas' Town Challenge" design team.
Unfortunately this challenge is closing as the store owner is no longer going to sell Magnolia stamps. So sad.
So, I would like to say a BIG thank you to Pam and all my talented teamies....I will miss you....and I am sure to bump into you all in Blog Land as we continue our journey.

This is FREE SPIRIT TILDA, coloured using distress re-inkers, a 00 brush and Langton watercolour card. The card shape was cut with GoKreate dies and the paper is SUMMER CRUSH by MAJA. I have inked and stitched all the edges with a deeper thread than usual and I quite like the contrast.

The star crescent die is new from JOYCRAFTS. I cut it in card and paper, gluing and doubling for strength, then adding a good sprinkle of Glamour Dust and pink pearls. The border was cut with the "Tilda's Lace" Doo Hickey die and two more Doo Hickey dies made the leaves for the flowers.

I used some Liquid Pearls and Glamour Dust on Tilda and around the image, before sewing it to a paper doily.

I do hope you have a good week.
There is a nip in the air this morning and I am watching the children going off to school with their parents, all wrapped up in their coats. I do hope we haven't yet said goodbye to summer.
I will be back in the week with a second "Boho" card.
Till then, take care.
Hugs

All About Magnolia - challenge #5 Summer

Hello, Happy Monday!

Its time for a reminder post for "All About Magnolia" challenge. Our theme this month is SUMMER and you
still have two weeks to submit your entry.

I thought I would use my new Maja papers, Summer Crush, on this card and tried to echo the picture of the bicycle with this cute stamp of Tilda on her bike.

I've been rushing around trying to get organised for our holiday. Random things pop up such as
daughter needing a dress altered, hubby needs some trousers turning up, odd things needing ironing etc..the usual!

The only die I have used here is Joy Crafts butterfly border, which has been cut and glittered, with a large fancy doily in the background and a smaller one behind the image.
All the embellishments are available over at Live and Love crafts, including the luscious lace and flowers.

That's all for now.
Enjoy your week and I hope the sun shines for you all.

Magnolia Joyfull Tilda

Hello Friends

I have been making Christmas Cards. I love making them and never get bored...I could make them for ever I think!

Today's card is a shaped easel using some favourite papers by
Maja. This collection is called Vintage Frost. The stamp is little "Joyful Tilda" from the 2013 Winter Wonderland collection and I have painted her with distress re-inkers, adding Glamour Dust on her hat and lace.

The Joined Christmas trees and Snowflakes were cut with Doo-hickey Dies, then glittered with Glamour Dust.
The tag on the bottom layer opens for a sentiment and is decorated with a bow and a snow flake charm.

The Fancy Oval behind Tilda is a Joy Craft Die.
The ribbon, lace and diamanté snow flake are from The Ribbon Girl.  The Maja paper, flowers and charm  are all from Live and Love Crafts.

Thank you for choosing to browse my blog today.

Tilda's Town Challenge # 166 - Happy Everything

Happy Sunday!

We are having the most beautiful Summer weekend here in London, it's just perfect!
Everything's ready for a barbeque in the garden, including the Pimms!

So as I am feeling happy, let's have a cheery challenge.
At Tildas Town this week our theme is...

The DT girls have made some wonderful cards to inspire you and here is mine, It's a criss-cross card. I haven't made one of these for ages, but the Pion papers inspired me this time.
This is Tilda with Rose Basket. She has been painted with distress re- inkers. I wish you could see the glamour dust on her hat and roses, but the camera didn't pick it out. I just love blue cards so I all I had to do was add some pale cream and blue roses and cut a few butterflies. I made a double seam binding bow adding a pearl and diamanté button.
This is the inside card, complete with another favourite of mine, Tilda with Lace Shoes. I have stitched the paper and the Joy Craft die and added a sentiment and a butterfly.
Wrapped around the card is my favourite lace!
I added a Joy Craft easel stand and the card was complete.
My Happy Everything Tilda Card!

I hope you like her.
Have a lovely week ahead everyone, whatever you plan to do.

ALL ABOUT MAGNOLIA - BINGO

Good morning crafters

Happy Monday!

Here is my DT card for our mid-way reminder at

You still have 2 whole weeks left to enter and this month we are playing BINGO!

My card uses the last line downwards - Bling, Ribbon, Metal.

The papers are Pion  - Paris Flea Market, also used to make the butterflies using a Joy Craft die. I added  some "bling" with glamour dust and tiny pearls and arranged them around another fancy circle die, also from Joy Craft, and a doily.
The "metal" is two butterfly charms. One has been coated with gesso and glamour dust. The other hangs from some pearl string.
The "ribbon" is a double seam binding bow with lace and a "Bling "embellishment.

Everything on my card can be found at Live & Love Craft 0r
The Ribbon Girl.

Just choose a row of three boxes in the grid below. You may choose a horizontal, vertical or diagonal row or all of them to make a "full house"!

So, my card stars Tilda with Flower Basket.
She was painted with distress re-inkers, glittered and stitched. I've used liquid pearls around her.

Thank you for all your lovely comments.
They mean the world to me.

Until next time, take care.
